Finding (or Creating) a Siberian-Proof Kennel

Siberians are not typical dogs that can be left unattended for long periods in a typical back yard. Because they are so independent and intelligent, they can get themselves into serious trouble if they are not properly restrained at those times you can't be there in person to watch them.

We are currently using Behlen welded wire kennels for our dogs. Siberians have been known to be injured chewing on chain link fence, in their quest to relieve boredom and to escape. In fact, left long enough to work in private, they can tear a chain link fence apart!

The welded wire panels have been working very well for us, and we strongly recommend them over chain link or wood board fencing for keeping your Siberians safe and secure.

Behlen kennel panels can usually be purchased in a farm supply or feed store. Don't expect to find them in your neighborhood building supply store. We purchased our kennel panels from Kahoots. Our next purchase for panels to enclose the new exercise yard will come from FCP.
