Great Sources for Pet Health Insurance
We are researching sources for pet insurance, as the cost of some kinds of veterinary procedures can be quite expensive. Do ask your veterinarian for recommendations and opinions as they're the ones that know which insurance carriers are the best at paying claims. Here is a short list of what we've found so far:
- AKC Pet Healthcare Plan — Very comprehensive plans at varying levels of coverage. Currently, you'll get a limited 60 day policy as a bonus when you register your puppy with the AKC.
- Veterianary Pet Insurance — No provider lists means you can use any veterinarian. However, you pay the fee first and then they reimburse you.
- PetAssure — A discount plan with a list of providers to reduce out of pocket fees.
- Optimum Wellness Plan — A veterinary health plan covering services offered by Banfield Pet Hospitals, which are usually found inside PetSmart stores.
